Forest School

Discover Forest School!

GEP-7 (2)

Every week, our children visit our magical Forest School site in National Trust-owned Haywood – a beautiful area of woodland about 15 minutes’ walk from our base in the Pavilion.

Our Forest School site is packed full of exciting things to explore, from mud pits to rope swings and from balancing logs to a magical pirate ship! The activities and routine at Forest School have a wonderful, care-free feel, and at the same time are carefully planned to support the delivery of the Government’s Early Years Foundation Stage and help prepare our children for their future learning. We hope our Forest School will foster a generation of young people who value the natural world and its resources and treasure the Peak District’s valuable natural heritage.

Forest School takes place on Wednesday and Friday and runs from 9-12. There is an option to combine an indoor lunch 12-1 and afternoon pre-school session until 3pm.

The sessions are led by pre-school staff and specialist Forest School leaders and are regulated in the same way and meet the same high standards as all of our other activities.
