Grindleford and Eyam Playgroup has been judged to be outstanding after it’s recent Ofsted inspection. In the summary of key findings, the inspector noted:
“Staff are very caring and vigilant. They ensure children are safe, secure and confident as they take part in the exciting activities available. Children settle in quickly when they first start and develop firm friendships with each other. They are very happy, inquisitive and well behaved.”
The Chair of the playgroup’s management committee, Liz Tiplady shared “We are incredibly proud of this achievement. I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to our success; our fantastic staff team whose dedication and enthusiasm for the playgroup is hugely important in reaching this standard; our team of volunteers who work behind the scenes and our local partners such as the National Trust whose beautiful woodland we visit each week. Since we introduced our outdoor based sessions such as forest school and gardening at our allotment we have seen the positive impact this has had for each child’s learning, and it is very pleasing to have this recognised during our Ofsted visit.”
