Our volunteers on their way to create our Forest School site, January 2013

Grindleford and Eyam Playgroup works in partnership with the National Trust to deliver a unique Forest School experience in beautiful Peak District woodland. Our Forest School site is based on National Trust land belonging to the Longshaw Estate and we benefit from the tireless support and hard work of the National Trust’s local rangers and community learning officers.

We actively support the work carried out all year round by the National Trust to preserve and enhance this precious heritage and ensure that our Forest School activities are sustainable and in keeping with the National Trust’s goals.

More information about the National Trust’s Longshaw Estate can be found here.

Did you know? The National Trust are running a campaign called ’50 things to do before you’re 11 3/4′ which promotes fun and free ways for young children to enjoy the great outdoors. The campaign sets a challenge to kids to get outdoors and enjoy playing with nature – they can tick each task off on the National Trust’s 50 Things To Do website. From going on a barefoot walk to cooking on a campfire, which will you try first?
