Thanks to everyone who joined us for our family forest school – it was a beautiful Autumn morning and great to get out with friends and family.
Once up at the site the children helped the leaders run through our rules and showed parents how to move safely round the fire circle.
There lots of jobs to be done and we want to thank everyone who helped re-build the climbing frame and balancing beams – popular activities at our weekly sessions.
National Trust rangers joined us for part of the morning and helped clear a patch of rhododendrons to create a new toilet area – great work. The rangers were delighted to see so many families enjoying time in the woods.
The children were busy too – painting with mud and creating an entire menagerie of fantastic beasts from clay and twigs.
The toasting of marshmallows was a popular way to round off a super morning.
The event raised £70 which will be used to buy new equipment for playgroup.
Look out for details of our Spring and Summer dates.
Our AGM will be held on Tuesday 8th November, 7.30pm at the Pavilion.
A chance to chat with the staff, look around the room as set out for a session and look at the ways we communicate with home.
It’s that time of year again….changing leaves, cold, clear crisp days and the Wild Wood Experience at the Longshaw Estate.
Following on from last years success – we were voted the best attraction on the day! – we are again hosting the Forest School. Last year people joined us in bread making, butter churning, fire starting, animal disk making, playing on the seesaw or just enjoying some quiet time under the gazebo reading and colouring.
Come along and join us – who knows what forest school fun we will get up to!
